Port Jefferson miscellaneous collection, 1830-1933.

Papers relating to individuals and business in Port Jefferson, L.I., including account books, deeds, wills and estate papers, letters, bills, programs, calendars and scrapbooks. Darling family papers included account books and letterpress copy book from the F. F. Darling & Co. store in Port Jefferson, 1872-1886. Papers of the Wilson family include the will of Reuben H. Wilson, 1866; a patent for sail rigging to Frederick M. Wilson, 1891; papers relating to Dr. A. D. Wilson, U.S. Army surgeon who died while on duty in Arizona, 1866-1876; as well as deeds, legal agreement regarding shipping, bills and letters. Bayles family papers include business and personal correspondence of James M. Bayles and James E. Bayles, other letter and bills relating to shipping and ship repairs, 1857-1890; papers relating to school districts in the town of Brookhaven, and to the Northville Academy; and an inventory of the estate of Mary L. Griffing. There are also letters and other papers of Nathaniel Tuthill, his daughter Isabel H. Roe, Annie M. Roe and others; other store and household account books, church and temperance society programs, and ephemera.
